Established in 2019, the African Center for Consultancy (ACC) is an independent research center, initiated by a group of researchers, politicians and journalists who share a common interest in the intellectual, political and developmental concerns of the African content.
The idea of the ACC evolved in the context of the current revolutions and drastic transformations that contemporary African communities are undergoing. Presumably, the impacts of these transformations transcend the political and economic surface, bypass geographical and historical settings, and run deeper into the cultural and social life.
Grasping the essence of such a phenomenon and harness for the common good (before it dissipates in civil wars and marginal conflicts) would certainly put an enormous responsibility on all: researchers, intellectuals and policy makers. To meet such a challenge, they need a massive body of an in-depth research, which enhance public policies by firmly grounding them on solid information and rigorous analysis and critique.
Although the ACC concerns itself in principle with economic issues, its objectives are not necessarily limited to narrow economic domain. The ACC seeks to explore alternative developmental visions and develop critical perspectives. Based on solid research on real economics and politics, The ACC seeks to make these visions and perspective directly related to African communities and/or governments, particularly at a time when both are facing unprecedented interventions (from competing big powers) as well as bloody internal and regional conflicts.
